A Place To Stuff Your Stuff
 DENVER, CO - August, 2006. After years of regular gym work outs, Rita Hamburg decided to try out the business side of the fitness world. Seeing the need for a place to stash her keys and cell phone while moving from machine to machine she responded by designing a towel with a zippered pocket dubbed ZIP-ZAC™. The idea for the pocket was born out of necessity, said Rita. "I was always juggling with my keys, membership card, cell phone, sunglasses and towel, and half of the time leaving something behind, as I was moving around the gym, and I thought wouldn't it be great if I could keep everything together with the towel then I would only have to carry around one thing." With that thought, she started a new company, Tasca, meaning "pocket" in Italian, to market the towel. Rita, a graphic designer and owner of RitaDesign, Inc. in Denver, admits that marketing a product is a lot different than providing a service, but with her design expertise and business acumen, she is ready for the challenge. After talking to numerous club owner's about the problem of people leaving behind their keys, phones and ID cards, and the nightmare of trying to return these items to their rightful owners, Rita knew she was on to a good idea. ZIP-ZAC's defining feature is the water-resistant lined, zippered pocket that provides security and mobility for personal items. "These days people want to keep their cell phones with them all the time. With ZIP-ZAC, you have a secure place to put a cell phone or MP3 player or any other small personal item, without the fear of inadvertently leaving it at the last machine you used." Rita recognized the uniqueness of the pocket and patented the design, securing ZIP-ZAC's niche in the fitness and recreation industries. Of course, ZIP-ZAC's usefulness doesn't stop at the gym. The line is starting with a 20" x 30" athletic towel, with plans to add a beach towel and a golf towel, all with the patented zippered pocket. The towels come in a variety of colors and designs, and each can be customized with a screen-printed or embroidered logo. Rita is poised to make a splash in the market with her ZIP-ZAC towels. Her philosophy is to provide peace-of-mind to both gym goer's and club owners by creating a functional line of towels that enhance active lifestyles. |
